May 7, 2010- The weekend of May 14-15 we will be competing in Green Lane PA. The
local volunteer fire company is the host and these guys really know how to throw
a party. Blues music, beer, smoke and a really nice bonfire make for a great weekend.
If you are in the neighborhood, stop in and sit a spell. Oh yea, we will have copies
of Startin the Fire available at our site if you are interested.
May 5, 2010- Brian Meagher from http://hotsaucedaily.com/ has a great podcast from
the Pork in the Park BBQ contest held in Salisbury MD. You can check it out at http://hotsauceweekly.com/hsw-019-pork-in-the-park-2010/
or link it from our site, George and Bob were both interviewed, Brian’s site is a
wealth of information about hot sauces and cooking in general, check it out when
you have a minute.
April 30, 2010- Updates galore:
Salisbury- Pork In the Park-The gang was going to be a man down once again. Quick
thinking George decided to try the local personal adds to see if anyone would be
interested in cooking with them at the last minute. He thought it was a good idea….you
decide. Check out the new blog post on the Pork in the Park contest as well as the
latest on contests memories. Salisbury pictures and results can be found on the past
events page. New book reviews on the Startin the Fire page and on Amazon.com. Some
new recipes should be up soon, there is a lot happening here on the WATG? Site.
Next up for the team is a trip up to sleepy Green Lane, Pa May 14-15. Located a little
north of Philadelphia, this is a second year contest that has grown to 49 teams.
The local volunteer fire company is the host and these folks really know how to throw
a party, which includes a huge bonfire on Friday night. If you are in the area, try
and stop by and say hello and don’t forget to bring your marshmallows!
April 14, 2010- Check out the audition video we submitted for the second season of
BBQ Pitmasters on TLC. See the video here.
April 6, 2010- Our season opener will be April 16-17th at the Pork in the Park Festival
in Salisbury MD. Sandy Fulton, contest organizer does a bang up job for both the
teams and the attendees at his event. The event itself runs through Sunday April
18 with a car and motorcycle show as well as plenty to do for the entire family.
If you are on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, you need to stop by and take a look.
The WATG? gang will be set up early Friday morning through Saturday afternoon and
will have copies of Startin the Fire for sale at their site, stop in and say hey!
March 23, 2010- George is scheduled to be signing books at the 7th Annual Pork n’
Brew BBQ Competition on March 26-27 at Santa Ana
Star Center in Rio Rancho NM. Of
