DESSERTS

Next Best Thing to George Clooney

submitted by Connie Rempe

Ms Rempe shares this frozen dessert with us and we are sure glad that she did. (Her name, not mine). Cool Whip, pudding, cream cheese, butter, sugar, nuts. What is not to like? I am thinking of just dumping all the ingredients together into a frozen blender and making myself a delicious smoothie! I think when I serve this one to guests; I will be calling it The Next Best Thing to GC. Thanks to Greg and Connie Rempe for sharing some of their secrets.

Sweet Georgia Brown Bars

This is a dessert recipe I stumbled upon several years ago and planned to use in one of the ancillary categories that we cook. Up until now, I have yet to submit it in the contest setting. I have made it several times for parties, always to rave reviews. It is very, very sweet. So sweet, it hurts your teeth, but that, sometimes, is a good thing!

Grilled Banana Split

I was looking for an easy dessert recipe that anyone could do on the grill. I wanted something that would be fun for the kids, but could serve as a dinner party offering as well. This easy to do deal fit the bill on both accounts. You can modify to fit your need, even using the banana bowl as the base for a sundae bar for the kids to enjoy. Just use your imagination! This is a modified version of a recipe from Kell Phelps of the National BBQ News he submitted to the latest KCBS cook book.
